School SLP with ASL Skills - Full-Time - Odessa, TX
Blazer Jobs is actively interviewing experienced School Speech-Language Pathologists (SLP) who are proficient in American Sign Language (ASL) for a full-time position with school districts in Odessa, TX. This is an exciting opportunity to work with a diverse student population and make a significant impact on their communication and language development.
Requirements:
To apply for this position, applicants must meet the following qualifications:
- Active Texas State Speech-Language Pathologist license (SLP)
- Master's degree in Speech-Language Pathology
- Certificate of Clinical Competence (CCC-SLP)
- Proficiency in American Sign Language (ASL)
- Experience working as a Speech-Language Pathologist in a school or educational setting is preferred
- Ability to pass background checks as required by state and local regulations
- Valid Texas Drivers License (if required for travel between campuses)
Responsibilities:
- Provide speech therapy services to students with communication and language disorders
- Conduct assessments and evaluations to diagnose speech and language disorders, including those requiring ASL
- Develop and implement Individualized Education Plans (IEPs) for students with speech and language needs
- Provide direct therapy in both one-on-one and group settings
- Collaborate with teachers, parents, and administrators to ensure students speech and language goals are met
- Offer guidance and support to staff on communication strategies, including the use of ASL in the classroom
- Monitor and document student progress, adjusting therapy plans as needed
- Participate in IEP meetings and contribute to the development of goals and strategies
- Provide training and support to parents and school staff on communication strategies and speech therapy techniques
